Vincy Flavours 2008
St. Vincent and the Grenadines Hotel and Tourism Association's Vincy Flavours 2008 to be held under the theme: “Appreciate an alternative”... Celebrate the rhythm of Vincentian food and drink on Saturday 22nd November 2008, 8:00am – 5:00 pm. This year’s feature foods are: Okra, Pumpkin, Brown Rice, Peas (pigeon, lentil, red kidney, and yellow split), Herbs (marjoram, fine leaf thyme), Pawpaw (green and ripe), and Rum.
This event is a food and beverage competition and exhibition highlighting the linkages between agriculture and tourism. The activity promotes and encourages the utilization of local and indigenous foods – catalyst for Culinary Tourism.
Participants and their support teams research the featured foods and beverages prior to competition and create delicious entrees, desserts and non-alcoholic and rum based drinks to win the favour of the esteemed panel of judges.
This activity clearly encourages the innovative use of local products by food and beverage practitioners and serves to also support Community Tourism initiatives.
