St. Vincent and the Grenadines Hotel and Tourism Association's Vincy Flavours 2008 to be held under the theme: “Appreciate an alternative”... Celebrate the rhythm of Vincentian food and drink on Saturday 22nd November 2008, 8:00am – 5:00 pm. This year’s feature foods are: Okra, Pumpkin, Brown Rice, Peas (pigeon, lentil, red kidney, and yellow split), Herbs (marjoram, fine leaf thyme), Pawpaw (green and ripe), and Rum. This event is a food and beverage competition and exhibition highlighting the linkages between agriculture and tourism. The activity promotes and encourages the utilization of local and indigenous foods – catalyst for Culinary Tourism. Participants and their support teams research the featured foods and beverages prior to competition and create delicious entrees, desserts and non-alcoholic and rum based drinks to win the favour of the esteemed panel of judges.
